I feel weird saying Happy Memorial Day, since I'm one of those who believe in taking time to reflect on the day's meaning, and that doesn't conjure feelings of happiness. Sure, it's a day off, and it's about 200 degrees outside right now, so grills and swimming pools are a must. If you're lucky enough to have those. But in this current climate in America, I want to go on record about where I stand. People shun our flag. Patriotism is mocked. Support for our troops is sneered upon. It's hip to look down on your own country.
I'm an American. I am proud to be American. I support our troops, and anyone who disagrees with me on that well... the door's over there. Feel free to leave and go spout your disdain on Facebook. Today I will take the time to pay tribute to fallen soldiers who have died in service to their country, and thank our veterans from all branches of service. I will remember the families of those who didn't come home and hope they find peace after such a horrible loss. My niece serves in the U.S. Navy. To her, and all active members of the armed forces, a special thank you. May you all come home safely.
400 pictures taken, two almost turned out.
Baseball. Watching in person is so very different than sitting in your recliner, jamming popcorn in your mouth while Youk slams a homer over the Green Monster. And it's even more interesting when the players only come up to your chest...
Do you have a problem with song lyrics? I do. Thanks to computer technology, I am now able to Google song lyrics and find out that half the songs I loved in my life have very different lyrics than what I've been belting out while driving in my car. It's shameful, really.
Because I can't have a little zen gardening time like normal people...
Floyd Landis, Lancaster County cyclist, and winner of the 2006 Tour De France finally came out of the closet. No, not that one, the other one. Let's talk about lying liars and the lies they tell...
A little status update on the Migrant Garden now that it's been moved back outside. Hopefully the lingering frosts are finally giving up and I can keep them outside. Also, I hope it stops freaking raining nearly every day of the week because it's really getting old. Mouse over the pics for the snazzy captioning feature!
I've made a very important connection via my website's comment form. I feel tempted to share the link with everyone. I mean, who doesn't covet a chance to hear from hkledicj hkledicj??
I wish to click. I know the provided link contains very special information that I could utilize in my quest to become a published writer. I mean, come on, it's from hkledicj hkledicj!!
Okay. Yes. It's spam. I know this. It just boggles my mind that a spammer can't take 30 seconds to at least post a legitimate name to tempt me to fall for their clever ruse. Honestly, don't you guys take pride in your work? Show some initiative!
This is possibly a good time to mention that, if you do post a link and I don't know who you are, I'm not going to click on an unverified link, especially when you use nothing but sheer gibberish to try to lure me into your trap. Just saying.
But I treasure my first official piece of spam. I do. *hugs it*
