I'm very happy to introduce this week's Friday Featured Author, the awesomely awesome Sharon Saracino! She's sweet, she's talented, she's gracious, she's adorable, I covet her hair, and if someone ever asked me to share a list of the people I was most happy to have met through this writing journey of mine, Sharon would be tops. So kick back and enjoy this little trip into the world of Ms. Saracino.
It's Friday! Yay! That means it's Friday Feature time, and we wrap up my first month of grilling authors with the lovely Phyl Campbell, who I hope forgives me for accidentally falling asleep before doing my usual late night posting last evening (I blame complicated work shifts and the Red Sox). So, let's get rolling and get to know Miz Campbell!
Our visiting author this week on the Friday Feature, Arlene Hittle, is a fitting guest, considering I'm sitting on my couch, sweating bullets for the Sox this post-season. Arlene's new release has a taste of America's pastime in it, and I can't wait to get a copy. Now, let's throw out the first pitch and welcome Arlene to the blog!
Welcome back to the second week of the new Friday Feature here on The Dirt blog. This week, allow me to introduce you to Sarah Ballance, a multi-tasking mom who makes all my personal excuses about writing time look really, REALLY lame, with all she accomplishes in one day. A big thank you for coming over to the blog, Sarah! Now, let's get the ball rolling....
I suppose I will have to keep updating as I try to reach the finish line at www.healthcare.gov. Today, I can't get my incomplete application to load, and when it comes to my identity crisis, I get this:
You got it. A government-issue Blue Screen O'Death. Haven't seen this before. Do I exist anymore? Can anybody hear me? Bueller? Bueller?
So, it's time for healthcare enrollment! I've been uninsured for a year now after a job change, and have realized that *gasp* my hours are getting cut just enough to ensure I will not qualify for insurance through my employer after all.
The threats I've been throwing about have come to fruition. Starting this week, every Friday on the blog will be set aside for a Q&A with a different author, poet, or aspiring writer. (We need a better term than 'aspiring'. If you have crafted one sentence with the goal of publication in mind, you're a writer, dang it.) I've been assembling a fun and diverse cast of characters for the Friday Feature, and hope you'll make it a point to come on over every week to learn about these wonderful people who are in various stages of and taking interesting paths on the writing journey. We kick off the Friday Feature with Katie Gallagher, author of Catching You, and a bright spot on my Twitter and Facebook feeds. Welcome, Katie!
