Happy Friday, everyone! This week's featured author is Rosa Sophia, author of a novel with the truest title around. Retail really is murder, especially within the pages of her book. Welcome to the blog, Sophia!
Who are you and why are you here?
My name is Rosa Sophia, author / editor / historian / mechanic / librarian—yes, all of those! —and I’m here to promote my Mystery novel, Check Out Time.
Give us some details about the work you’re promoting.
Naomi Vogler blames herself for her mother's tragic death, continually reliving the accident in her nightmares. When she reconnects with her estranged father, he invites her to live with him in a little town called Witchfire. A simple job stocking shelves overnight at a local grocery store seems a perfect distraction. But when the manager of the store is found dead in the boiler room, Naomi's boring job becomes something much more complicated. No matter how she looks at it, one thing is certain: retail is murder.
What’s next for you?
Currently, I am looking for a publisher for my Romance novella, When I Dream of You, and writing a book on South Florida history which I hope to complete sometime next year.
When and where do you do your best writing?
Although I was born in Pennsylvania, I am a Floridian through and through, so I prefer to write in Florida, when it’s warm and the sky is bright and beautiful. I am about to journey back north and live there for a while, but I will become a snowbird as soon as the weather threatens to turn cold.
Where do you want to be in five years?
In Florida, working as a librarian. I hope to complete my BA and Masters in Library Science in an accelerated program. For the last four years, I have been working in a library, although I hold an Associates degree in Automotive technology and a background in electrical schematics diagnostics. Once I have my degree in Library Science, I will be a librarian too!
What is your earliest childhood memory?
When I was four years old, I saw a ghost. It was the first of many.
Favorite book when you were a child?
Shakespeare’s Comedies, read while curled up in an armchair in my grandmother’s living room.
If you could collaborate with any author on an exciting new project, who would you choose?
The late and great P.G. Wodehouse. Having tea with him would be a pleasure.
