Yesterday I was rather lazy. Didn't accomplish a thing. Just lounged around and took forever to finally crawl out of bed and get out of the hotel. I'm still loving the easy access to sweet tea. So much yum, I doubt I could ever get sick of it. Had a minor flirting episode (I think) with a dimpled EMT. We bonded over Pig Powder at Mutts. I fled.
Greenville is experiencing heat indexes in the 100s, but while I admit it's hot, especially when you have to linger outside and move around, it's tolerable, I believe. Pennsylvania has felt a lot more intense in recent times.
I went downtown and just wandered around a couple blocks. Not a big exploration, but I went into one or two shops. My mission was to pretend to look for jobs, but really, I wanted a chipotle turkey flatbread from Quizno's. Will have to get back down there again.
Stopped by the Greenville County Museum of Art because I saw they had an Andrew Wyeth exhibit. And free admission. And air conditioning. I liked the selection of works they displayed. He's great with watercolor(duh, right?). His models have always interested me, since he seemed to pick people with expressive, rugged features. Plus, it was kind of fun because I was the only one there at the time. Something cool about having an entire gallery to yourself.
Went to check out a nearby town called Traveller's Rest that didn't quite live up to the tourism brochure. It claimed to be an antique shoppers mecca, but it mostly had a strip mall. All good though, because I was just ogling the mountains and the clouds on the drive there.
Red Robin was the night's dinner destination. Yum. Had my Natty burger and chili. My tummy was very stuffed.
Now I'm back at the hotel. Returned to find no running water after a random pit stop. Got the front desk to get someone to turn the water on that was turned off during some remodeling work during the day. Thought it was resolved when I checked the sink later, but the shower and the toilet still aren't working. I called again and still no results. If it isn't resolved shortly, the morning clerk is going to get an earful because I am a constant night-time potty breaker, and things are gonna get ugly soon. I don't understand what's so hard here.
Guess that's my first official complaint. Added some pics below because Julie was appalled that I didn't post my Mutts pics in the last post.
