I swear, I'm going to leave South Carolina fifteen pounds heavier....
Sweet tea is my friend. I'm guzzling it like mad. Even Sonic and McDonald's have awesome sweet tea down here. Going back to Pennsylvania's version will suck.
I have nothing dazzling to report at this point. Been driving around looking for a magic Help Wanted sign. Checking out the area, getting lost because Tomtom is very confused by the south for some reason. Also raiding some websites and threw out a few resumes so far.
Went toodling around today and found a park that I think was in Boom's end of town. Hard to tell because of the way Tomtom navigates.
Visited with Pooh the other day and sat around and talked for a few hours. Got a partial hug out of Torrie, hee. Will have to pop back on them when they least expect it. Muwahahaha.
Boom took me to gorge on BBQ at a place called Mutts, which is the most awesome BBQ place in the world. Got the buffet and loaded up on BBQ pork, ribs, mac n cheese, baked beans, and sweet tea (of course). Then, to my horror, I realized my stomach was not up for the challenge of the piled up plate I brought to the table. I put in a noble effort, but I failed as a binge eater. They had a spicy BBQ sauce that was pretty nifty. Boomlettes were impressed with a train that ran around the room up near the ceiling. D was appalled by my sticky BBQ fingers, and C and I bonded over our contempt for strawberry seeds. There was also a massive Rock, Paper, Scissors war that I overwhelmingly lost. Damn my propensity for scissors.
I've been very remiss about pics so far, so I will try to do better. Some pics below of the park I checked out today.
Overall, I'm not really thinking I'll drive away with a job, but there's a better market in the area, that's for sure. Much more encouraging than what's in York. I'm gonna keep looking though and hope something pops up while I'm here. I might have chosen a dumb time of the month to come looking but hey, the other part of the trip was to see if I really like the area, and so far I'm digging it! Much more mellow vibe around here, and much less road rage, lol.
